Let\u2019s provide a more detailed overview of G-Flake\u00ae materials applications, both those with commercial potential and those related to fundamental research. Additionally, we will describe the characterization techniques we use in Flake Graphene Research Group for studying (but not only) graphene-related materials. 

Today’s post is dedicated to the work related to the fibrous mats enhanced with G-Flake\u00ae materials, which are fabricated via solution blow spinning (SBS) technique, developed in our group by Aleksandra Izabela Banasiak. The process is very efficient and allows for the production of nonwoven fabrics used in regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, drug delivery systems, filters and membranes, and much more. 

In our Research Group at \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics, we work on the incorporating G-Flake\u00ae materials into the volume of biodegradable mats. This allows us to control several features of the material, such as inter alia: its mechanical properties and the degradation kinetics. All of this can be achieved by selecting the appropriate concentration of carbon-based nanomaterials, the size of flakes, and the degree of their reduction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is worth mentioning that there is also the possibility of reversing the aforementioned paradigm and coating biodegradable mats with graphene-related materials. In this case, we primarily alter the surface wettability of the mat and can control the processes occurring on its surface, especially the interaction with living cells and tissues.

Furthermore, the utilization of graphene-related materials can provide additional functionalities to fibrous scaffolds and contribute not only to improvement of biological response but also to creating antibacterial properties of such product. Additionally, the elimination of oxygen functional groups will enhance conductivity and enable the electrostimulation of living cells.
