This material is reduced graphene oxide (RGO), which exhibits properties similar to those of pristine graphene. Based on our researchers\u2019 experience from conversations with representatives of companies operating in various industries, as well as contacts with scientific institutions, we can state that in many cases RGO is the material of first choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are several reasons for this. Unlike its unreduced alter-ego, graphene oxide (GO), RGO is much more stable (GO can undergo reduction if stored or processed under improper conditions, losing its unique properties.) Furthermore, RGO possesses other desirable characteristics such as thermal and electrical conductivity, which opens up new paths for commercial applications.<br><br>It is important to keep in mind that the properties of RGO are closely correlated with the technique of GO reduction. At \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics, we hold patents for two methods of graphene oxide reduction including chemical and thermal processing. Both patents allow us to control the content of oxygen groups and the degree of structural defects, which, in turn, influence the physical and chemical properties of the material.<br><br>Using our experience and technological capabilities, in the Graphene Flake Research Group, we are currently conducting research on several potential applications for RGO, including sensors, batteries, scaffolds for tissue engineering, and friction-reducing materials.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today we will talk about another material offered by the G-Flake\u00ae brand.
